This component entails the construction of bus rapid transit systems in Bucaramanga, Cartagena, Medellin, and Pereira. The second component is the strategic public transit systems. The objective of the Rio Bogota Environmental Recuperation and Flood Control Project for Colombia is to assist the Borrower to transform the Rio Bogota River into a... Mostrar más + n environmental asset for the Bogota Distrito Capital metropolitan region by improving water quality, reducing flood risks and creating multi-functional areas along the river. There are four components to the project, the first component being upgrading and expansion of the Salitre Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). The second component is the flood control and Rio Bogota environmental restoration works. This component will reduce flood risk and establishment of multifunctional zones along the Río Bogota river through the carrying out of flood control and environmental improvement works, including river dredging, embankment construction, restoration of riparian habitats, meanders and wetlands, land acquisition, involuntary displacement of people, landscape design, and establishment of parks, and the provision of consultants' services for the design, construction and supervision therefor. The third component is the environmental and water studies. Finally, the fourth component is the project management and administration. This component will strengthening the capacity of the Borrower for the day-to-day implementation of the project, including: (a) compliance with financial, environmental and procurement management, reporting requirements and monitoring and supervision activities, implementation of the Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) and Environmental Management Plan (EMP), (b) the carrying out of a public outreach campaign, (c) training, and (d) the provision of consultants' services therefor. Mostrar menos -

The Magdalena Medio Regional Development Project seeks to develop the operational capacity of the Consortium for the Program for Development and Peace of the Magdal... Mostrar más + ena Medio Region (PDPMM), the Citizen's Network, and other partners to work together towards collectively defined objectives to reduce poverty and increase peaceful coexistence in the Magdalena Medio Region. There are two project components. The first component will build the capacity of the Consortium and Citizen's Network to implement the Program for Development and Peace. It will develop the Consortium's capacity to move from a participatory planning mode to an operational mode characterized by acting as a catalyst among beneficiaries and stakeholders, promoting the establishment of effective partnerships with other organizations, and dealing effectively with the diverse interests of key stakeholders in the region. It will also strengthen the Citizen's Network so that it is capable of influencing public affairs and implementing development projects based on local initiatives. The second component will develop, test, and document approaches which bring together community processes and resources around specific development initiatives agreed upon by citizens and authorities of selected municipalities or sub-regions of Magdalena Medio. Mostrar menos -
